Stay & Play Options at 55+ Communities

October 29, 2020

While online research is a great way to begin your search and can help you narrow down your options to a manageable few communities to consider, you can never get the feel of a community without a physical visit. The atmosphere of a community is made of more than just facts and pictures that you can see online.

Stay and Play

Some communities offer what I call the “Stay & Play” option. This is a wonderful, relatively inexpensive way to immerse yourself in a community. You will have time to explore the surrounding area, mingle with residents and ask them any questions you may have. All residents love to talk about how much they love their community and the 55+ lifestyle.

Local Options in Charlotte, NC

In my area of Charlotte/Lake Norman 2 communities have the option for an onsite stay. The first is Regency at Palisades South of Charlotte, close to Lake Wylie. You can stay up to 3 nights in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, model home for $129.00 a night. The other is Trilogy at Lake Norman where you also stay in a model home onsite in the community for 3 days and 2 nights for $399.00 which includes a $200.00 gift card to use onsite in the bar and restaurant or the outdoor shop to rent bikes, kayaks (inflatable-really cool), pickleball equipment and more. Both communities offer a tour of and use of the amenities, and a tour of the model homes. At Trilogy in warm weather months, a boat tour of nearby Lake Norman is also included. Sorry no pets allowed at either. Both communities will sometimes offer a credit up to $2500 off the price of a home in that community if you go under contract while on your stay.
